What's on Netflix Singapore this October

'Crazy Rich Asians' and an animated movie directed by a Disney legend are among the highlights in October.

This October, catch Netflix's new offerings, from a documentary about the rise of the popular K-pop group, BLACKPINK, to a horror movie about a newlywed battling with the legacy of her husband's dead first wife.

Here are some of the highlights:

1. Crazy Rich Asians

The 6th-highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time in America about super-affluent Asian elites is finally on Netflix.

Get a real taste of home as iconic locations such as Changi Airport and Marina Bay Sands are featured in this movie.

Constance Wu, the lead female actress, was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for this role.

2. Over the Moon

Directed by Glen Keane, the former Disney studios lead animator who animated characters such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Over the Moon is an animated musical which tells the story of the Chinese Moon Goddess fable, in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in a fresh new way.

Determined to prove the Moon Goddess exists, the leading young girl builds a rocket ship to the moon.

3. BLACKPINK: Light up the Sky

Ahead of the release of their first full album in October, check out this documentary on K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK.

Netflix presents the story of how this record shattering Korean girl group rose to fame, going into great detail about the struggles the group faced to achieve their dreams against the odds.

One of their most popular songs "Boombayah", is the first K-pop debut music video to exceed 800 million views on YouTube.

4. Rebecca

Till death do us part… or not!

A newlywed wife adjusts to her new life, but the legacy of her husband's dead first wife is still kept alive by the sinister housekeeper of the husband's family estate.

Based on the 1938 book of the same name, it remains to be seen how Netflix will update the story, but it is clear that it will be a thrill ride from start to finish.

Armie Hammer and Lily James star in this haunting tale.
