It’s time to get artsy, or be fascinated by retired birds.

It's the penultimate weekend in October (which means we are nearing the end of the year soon!)

There are plenty of virtual festivals to attend this weekend, but if you prefer to head out, you can spend some time and be fascinated by elder birds!

Here are five things to do this weekend (Oct 23 to 25):

1. Pay retired birds a visit

Tweet, tweet! There is a new aviary at the Jurong Bird Park where retired birds from the Kings of the Skies show will spend their golden years.

The new exhibit houses eight different birds from six different species, including a 60-year-old Egyptian vulture.

You can get a 20 per cent discount for admission tickets to the bird park if you purchase your tickets online here

2. View art pieces by a centenarian

A legend in the local art scene. Centenarian Lim Tze Peng, who just turned 100 in September, is holding his first virtual solo exhibitions with Ode To Art gallery.

The exhibition, A Century of Memories, showcases 20 new works of scenes of pre-modernised Singapore which are painted from his memory.

There are three virtual galleries, including one with over 100 works by art collectors. Register for the free exhibition here

3. Watch some films
