From Chinese to Mexican films, this weekend is gearing up to be one for film buffs!
Time flies and we are already into the last quarter of 2020!
Film buffs will especially love this weekend as there are plenty of film events. If film is not your thing, there are also other activities to consider spending your precious weekend doing.
Here are five things to do this weekend (Oct 2 to Oct 4):
1. Donate some money for a good cause

The annual President's Star Charity is back with its 20th instalment!
With the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting many livelihoods, it is all the more important to spread the love around and believe that you can make a difference.
This year's show will be hosted by Diana Ser and Fauzie Laily, with performances by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi as well as Mediacorp celebrities such as Zoe Tay, Pierre Png, Elvin Ng and Felicia Chin.

2. Watch some Chinese films
The Singapore Chinese Film Festival is back for its eighth edition.

The Singapore Chinese Film Festival is back for its eighth run, and this year's event is slightly different as it incorporates both online and in-cinema screenings.
The festival will showcase over 30 different films including 'Bamboo Theatre' and 'Our Time Machine'.
The films will be screened at Filmgarde Bugis+ and streamed on Shaw KinoLounge.

3. Watch some Mexican films
Catch the Mexican Film Festival 2020 at The Projector this weekend.

If Chinese films aren't really your thing, you can try watching Mexican ones at this year's Mexican Film Festival.
Taking place both online and in-cinema, viewers are in for a treat as some movies, such as Esmeralda's Twilight, are only screened in Singapore.

4. Learn more about Planet Earth
Learn more about humanity's relationship with the planet we live on at the ArtScience Museum.

In another film event, the ArtScience Museum will be holding ArtScience on Screen: Earth Watch, a series of screenings that highlight humanity's relationship with Planet Earth.
Viewers will get to think more about the role we play in the Earth's future as well as be captivated by some sci-fi goodness.

5. Spend a day at Marina Bay Sands
